Yoshishisa Heishi, the former editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump, has been promoted to managing director of Shueisha. Heishi is replacing Masahiko Ibaraki, who has served as the manga division leader for many years.
During Heishi's tenure as editor-in-chief, Weekly Shonen Jump launched several popular manga titles, including Demon Slayer, Haikyu!!, and My Hero Academia.
These titles helped to make Weekly Shonen Jump one of the most successful manga magazines in the modern day world, with Demon Slayer ALONE being an $8 Billion franchise.
